It all started with one man...
Twenty-five years ago Sausini, founded by Mario Hinojosa and currently managed by his family, bought land in San Luis, Tarija, Bolivia, with the idea of producing wine of the highest quality, free of any chemical ingredients, at its purest form.
Initially, the vines were imported from the best vineyards in France and only of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety. It took more than 10 years to acclimate the vines to Tarija’s weather, altitude and soil. Later on, Sausini added Moscatel de Alejandria vines from which, for the past five years, have been producing their Gran Singani Sausini; a Singani made of 100% pure Moscatel grapes with no additives and a limited production of 7,000 bottles per year.
Sausini’s most popular wines currently available for public consumption are Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Blend 2011 (Cabernet Sauvignon 65%/Merlot 355), Muscat 2015, Syrah 2017, PHI 2016 (Blend Cabernet Sauvignon65% and Syrah 35%).
